Bill Riedel: Portraits and Stories

I can’t think of many Letterheads or Walldog meets that I’ve heard about—or have been to—where Bill Riedel wasn’t in attendance. This master sign artist has spent 70-plus years in the trade and enjoys it as much as he did in his first days in a sign shop. He still helps out at the shop he opened in 1954, Riedel Sign Co. in Little Ferry, New Jersey. His son, Bill Jr., and his wife, Regina, run it now.

Another thing Bill enjoys is helping others improve their skills and succeed in the sign business. His knowledge and inspiring presence gets him invited to gatherings all over the world.
