Follow-up: Jon Depreter

When Jon Depreter was first featured in SignCraft 17 years ago [May/June 2004], he had a busy one-man shop in New York’s Hudson Valley. Today he creates and markets his art and sculpture from his studio in St. Augustine, Florida, where he and Andrea, his wife, have lived for the past 10 years. Recently we asked Jon for an update and his thoughts on creative sign making.

In 2011, I headed to Florida after 23 years in Pine Plains, New York, as Depreter Designs. I really enjoyed making signs all those years. The sign business can be a pretty unique way to make a living if you develop a market for creative signs.
