I stick my tools—X-Acto knives, razor blades, etc.—in a scrap of HDU board on my weeding table. It saves time because they’re always where they’re supposed to be, rather than hidden under papers or sheets of vinyl lettering. Of course, you have to PUT them in the foam!
…and another helpful thing is to use a dental pick to weed vinyl. It works better for me than a blade to lift the corner of a letter. And if you ask, your dentist may give you one of his old ones!

Keep track of your application tape
This might be just too simple to share, but it is one of those helpful things that we don’t always think of. We use several different types of application tape. Since I’m old and decrepit, it can be hard to read the markings on the inside of the roll. Simply use a permanent marker to write on the end of each roll what level tack it is.

Give your squeegee a soft, smooth edge
The sign/wrap supply companies charge a lot of money for felt-edge squeegees. Instead of buying them, apply the loop side of a piece of self-adhesive hook-and-loop material (Velcro) to a standard gold squeegee. It’s the perfect squeegee for use on delicate materials. A few dollars’ worth of the hook-and-loop material will cover dozens of squeegees.
