Bozeman, Montana, has been a top destination for travelers seeking outdoor adventure and solace for decades. Besides making every “Best Outdoor Town to Live In” list since the ’80s, Bozeman has found a new fame—the TV series “Yellowstone.” Now, tourists flock to the area in hopes of catching a glimpse of “real cowboys” while on their ski, fly fishing, hunting, or other outdoorsy vacation.

Bozeman’s tourism means plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops and other businesses. It also means cool, trendy signs of all types along with fine vintage neon displays, gold leaf windows and hand lettering. This collection is just from along Main Street. There are more “Off Main” but we’ll save those for later.

Bozeman is also home to Montana State University. Known mostly as an engineering and agriculture school, MSU also boasts a flourishing Arts & Architecture department which attracts students and professors from all over the country—many of whom do not want to leave the area and end up putting down roots. The spirit of the West is alive in Bozeman, but it takes on a bit of a higher-end feel these days compared to the Bozeman of the past.
